Some more shots of this great find by NW. As the weather warmed up the bird ranged further, and higher.

Raven at Old Warden

A close fly-past of a Raven at Old Warden (probably in a similar place to where Mark had his Red Kite!) resulted in these shots. I was pretty chuffed with them! 31st March 2007 by Steve Blain.

Red Kite

This Red Kite was about 15 feet over Mark's head when he took these shots! Old Warden, 31st march 2007, by Mark Thomas.

Red rumped Swallow 31 March

Couldn't really make the trip last night so went this morning. I'd missed the bird by ten minutes as it flew over everyone's head and flew along the edge of the lake. I walked about 200m by the farm where Andy Whitney had just found it sitting on the wires. It spent much of the next hour sitting on the wire with a few short flights. By 8.15 it was flying around the building when I left. Cheers for finding this Neil!

Found quite late in the evening at Brogborough Lake, this Red-rumped Swallow is the third Beds record (behind records from Southmills and Dunstable WR). An excellent find by Neil Wright. 30th March 2007. Photos digiscoped by Steve Blain.

Fulmar at Stewartby

I had a good run of luck today when I found a Woodlark, Iceland Gull and also this Fulmar. This bird was present from around lunchtime to at least late afternoon with the large gulls on Stewartby Lake. 24th March 2007 by Steve Blain.

More Iceland Gull pics

Two more shots of the adult Iceland Gull that's still around. This time it was on the meadow near the visitors center at MVCP. 24th March 2007 by Steve Blain.

Iceland Gull at Stewartby Lake

There was no sign of a reported Kumlien's Gull, but found this 1st summer Iceland Gull. It appeared very pale/bleached on the water in the bright spring sunshine. The bill base was pale with the distal third dark. An adult was seen earlier too, so possibly three Icelands today.

Iceland Gull

This bird was found roosting on Stewartby Lake. It then fly onto the tip but returned to roost. These photo's give a nice comparison with the white primaried Herring Gull taken at the same site. Note that the bird sits much higher in the water (appears more buoyant) The bill was also a lot less heavy, looking more Common gull in structure.

Little Owl

This birds was 1 of a pair sat in a tree where I have been seeing Little Owls for 17 years now!!!
