MVCP - 30th August 2008

Two of the c.23 Black Terns that were present all day.
Marsh Harrier seen circling over the MVCP access track near wetland 9. The photos shows how much darker the bird looked when only the shaded underside was visible.
An enjoyable day at MVCP. c.23 Black Terns present all day, two sightings of (probably the same) Marsh Harrier, Peregrine sat on top of one of the chimneys, 1 Little Egret and three Oystercatchers. Photos by Martin Green.

Pegsdon Redstart 10th Aug 2008


Tracked down this smart bird and then attempted to capture with the equipment I had available. This is a hand-held, digi-phone-binned shot using Nokia N73 and 8x45's. Bird still present in same bushes on 16th August at least.

Juv Spotted Flycatcher
