More Birds from my Clifton garden

A single Tree Sparrow visited my garden again today. It was not easy to get an angle avoiding intrusive branches etc and these were taken through the window. At leat it proves it was there!

Blackcap is a regularly overwintering species here though this year I have only seen a female.

Shefford Water Rail

Following the Beds Birds mailing by Roy Dunham I had a go at photographing this bird on 9 Feb. Conditions were less than ideal however as the the walk through was very icy, light was poor and it was raining. Furthermore after the bird was disturbed by two large, noisy and very boisterous dogs it failed to show again.

I had another go today. It took a while but here are three of the shots I obtained with which I am quite pleased.

Winter Thrushes in Clifton Garden

Here are some of Friday's pictures of the Fieldfare and Mistle Thrush in the garden. One each of a portrait and one of hopefully an evocative winter thrush portrayal! Also a Redwing as taken in the garden on Saturday.

All have been taken through the closed window i.e. through the glass!
